Required For: Appraiser Assistants, Residental and General Appraisers who supervise
Pre-Requisites: None, but it is recommended that the basic R4, R5 UPSAP courses have been Appraiser Assistants taken
This course is designed to meet the 4 hours required required by the Appraiser Qualifications Board for Qualifying Education for Appraiser Assistants, Residental and General Appraisers who supervise Appraiser Assistants.

The course commences with an overview of national and state appraisal regulatory bodies as well as a comprehensive discussion of the minimum AQB qualifying criteria for supervisory appraisers and the various appraiser classifications. Obligations of appraiser ethics and competency are also discussed with a focus on supervisory appraisers and trainees. The course concludes with specific roles and responsibilities of supervisory appraisers and trainee appraisers, including a final chapter that serves as a best practices checklist, designed to ensure thorough and meaningful supervisory oversight, and best practice development by trainees in appraisal development and reporting.

Jeffrey Beal, CSA-G has more than 30 years of experience in multiple phases of the real estate industry and has been a licensed Certified General Appraiser since 1992. He has consulted and testified as an expert in local, state and federal cases in all types of matters related to a wide variety of real property or interests in same were there is an issue of valuation, loss in value or of damages. 

He is a NYS Department of Transportation approved appraiser, as well as being a New York State approved real estate appraisal, real estate instructor and trainee supervisor. He is also certified by the Appraisal Foundation to teach the National Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice nationwide. 

He is an practicing Small Claims Assessment Review Hearing Officer and also on the New York State Court System Part 36 list as an approved appraiser. In addition he is a Regional Advisor to the Department of State.

Jeffrey J. Beal is a a past President and designated member of the Columbia Society of Real Estate Appraisers and holds its CSA-G designation. He is a practicing affiliate member of the Appraisal Institute,a past President of the New York Condemnation Conference and a member of the Real Estate Board of New York.
