Introduction to Blueprint Reading (ITBR) Part I – 3.75 hours Part II – 3.75 hours

Attendee(s) will review blueprints involved with the structure of the building
including the physical plant, environmental controls, and construction plans.
This variety of technical specialization will prepare attendee(s) for further
baseline approach to interact with project stakeholders, clients, building owners,
and real estate investors involved in development and renovation projects.
Introduction To Blueprint Reading (ITBR) Part I and Part II will help attendees to
understand renovations, restorations, architectural upgrades, improvements in
structural conditions – as well as improve their construction and real estate
careers (such as administrators, entrepreneurs, trades, real estate salespersons
and brokers).
The ITBR Part I and Part II classes lecture is for attendee(s) to be similar with this
learning experience. The ITBR classes parts can be taken separately for 3.75
hours and or combined into one (1) day for 7.5 hours. The blueprint reading goals
Identify structural components and elements on a construction project.
  • Understand the basic structural members used to build a structure
  • Interpret various dimensions and notes used on construction blueprints
  • Interpret various views used on construction blueprints
  • Identify and analyze basic construction symbol notations
  • Understand design drawing notes, symbols, and dimensions
